Let me set the scene....
Thursday night, and I'm waiting outside Drummonds.
Wait, what? Waiting? Queueing? For a gig? Yup, I thought I was too cool for that, but I went down early as I didn't have a ticket.
After chatting for a few minutes we got in, got our stamp (which there is still traces of today, I'm a mink) and sat down.
Wait, what? Sitting? At a gig?
Right, tonight is fucking weird.
Anyway, the first band comes on and does a line check. One thing I hated. Punters are already in and you're standing there going "Eh, check, 1. 2. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck. Is that okay? Ehm, check. Check. Check. Okay? Cheers."
But Re-Wired start their set with a chant from the lead singer before entering an onslaught of some amazing music. This is my first "local" gig in a while and I was blown away. These guys were really talented. And the drummer was just a bit mental. Near the end of an amazing set of quiet soulful moments followed by some good old heavy rock music, the singer announced his love for everyone at the gig and declared his belief in hope and Jesus Christ. And it was a nice touch. Some christian bands (TDWP) like to shove their beliefs down the listeners throat. But Re-Wired just gave a nice short speech that actually made me feel quite decent, it was uplifting.
And I needed it after a very drunk guy decided to dance at me and hug me then ditch me. I felt used.
The set ended with the singer throwing down his guitar, stealing one of the drummers cymbals and hammering fuck out of it. Really, this thing fell over, so it was picked up and thrown to the floor before getting another battering. Did I say the drummer was mental? Scratch that.
This band was mental. And I loved it.
After a short period of band switch overs and getting set up Dweller take to the stage.
After hearing this band's E.P. I couldn't wait to see them live. And it was amazing. The sheer epic sound of the band and vocals translates brilliantly. And the vocals have the same depth and emotion as the CD does. The guitars bass and drums sounded beautiful. And watching the bassist made me want to chuck my own bass in the bin and give up forever. The band played the E.P. bar one song, which is a quieter one, plus a new song. Which, if it's a sign of things to come, means great things for this band. After already having reviews in national magazines for the first E.P. I can only see the same plus more for the next release. And I for one can't wait.
Last on were the headliners: Letlive.
There was a lot of hype surrounding this band. A lot of people weren't fans of these guys just because of the hype. Off the back of the lead singer being voted biggest Rockstar ever by Kerrang! (or eh, something, I don't read much magazines) and some festivals over here it looked like these guys were ready to rock out.
You know the singer might be planning on going bat-shit mental when the roadie needs to seperate the monitors to make enough space for the singer to abandon the stage. And he did.
This band were again, amazing. This is one of the best gigs I'd been to in a very long while. All 3 bands, including local support were about to get my money in return for music? Brilliant.
With most of the gig spent in the crowd or on tables screaming his lungs out, the lead singer of Letlive. only made one mistake...
"Get on your feet GLASGOWWWWWWW".
But don't worry, he said Aberdeen from then on, talking about how he used to live in Scotland and how he was grateful to be back. I left to go home, but not before buying a Dweller t-shirt. And having one last laugh at a very drunk mosher, who kept stage diving despite the fact there was no one to catch him. One girl got smooshed and him and his friends all fell over at one point. Some people moved from the bar to the dancefloor and he had limited space, which stopped him. I chuckled and left.
Wow, that was only one night... Stay awake! There's more to read!
Ohmyachingback, Dingbats.
This is a blog about everything and anything that I deem fit for criticism. Expect movie reviews, music reviews, food reviews and general complaints about stuff. I'll talk about stuff I get up to and might even be happy some times. I tend to moan a lot. Hence the title. Also, I'll plug my own creations.

Eventful Weekend
I've spent far too much money this weekend.
But I'm glad.
First off, I've got a long awaited hair cut and I actually look semi decent now.
I also got my ears pierced with the intention of stretching them. I got both done as I couldn't remember which ear was the "gay" ear and didn't want to make that mistake.
So with both the gay ear and the straight ear pierced I played some pool with my pal Ian.
3-2 me. That takes our overall score to 12-9 him. Weekend: you're going good.
I also bought a load of stuff I like this weekend. I got me Choke by Chuck Palahniuk, Where You Want To Be by Taking Back Sunday, the Funeral For A Friend greatest hits thing. I then bought 3 issues of The Walking Dead. Woah, it's getting heavy.
I really recommend the two CDs I bought as well as the comics, so here's some links to Amazon to buy them. Worth every penny. I have no idea how good Choke will be, but if I'm going by his other works, it'll be pretty decent.
Press the words for a US purchase, the pictures for the UK.

If you haven't started reading the Walking Dead yet, do it.

Getting Fit (Take 2)
So I've decided to start going to the gym again after about 3 months of paying for it and not going.
Last night was the first time, and I barely lasted an hour.
After my warm up I felt like I could conquer the world. After 10 reps of chest extensions I wanted to sleep.
I only lasted 7 minutes on the bike and didn't do any core exercises.
But back again tomorrow. I need to get fit. There's not enough room for all the tattoos I want done on my body. And it was either get buff or get really fat. I prefer the former, and I'm sure the missus would too.
Although, I don't think she'd like the geeky tattoos I want.
After the gym I went home to watch some Season 2 of Bored To Death.

A Change of Plans
When I started this I thought "I'll review stuff I buy and tell you about it". But I end up buying things so much later than they are released and give up on that subject. I've went to post and given up quite a lot since my last post and that's why you haven't been spammed in the last few weeks.
But I'm gonna change all that. I'm going to start posting about my life and things that occur, not just about things I buy but also exciting news and my opinions on stuff.
So stayed tuned.

The least exciting of 2 Packages
I've ordered quite a lot of stuff off the internet recently. Gifts and stuff for myself. Amongst them was the Enter Shikari - Live From Planet Earth CD+3DVD Limited Edition Boxset
Now, I know this isn't out until the 11th. But people on the web were saying how they got theirs already. I'm a massivesaddo geek nerd fan and called my home right away, to see if anything had came.
"Aye, a package is here, but it's a small one"
Great things come in small packages right? Right?
Wrong. It was however, an Enter Shikari Promo cd for Destabilise that I got off eBay.
Great, one to add to my collection. But i was rather gutted. I thought about putting up a review for Destabilise but they've had another song out since then. Didn't see the point. So torn between my happiness of my promo arriving and dissappointment at me being one of the unlucky few that needs to wait for the boxset, I sat down and watched the US Office.
This cheered me up.
Stay tuned for my review of Live From Planet Earth

My First Post
Welcome to my blog!
I'm going to try and update this as much as I can. I'll be reviewing recently watched movies, recently read books and recently listened to CDs.
I'll talk about the food I eat and thedrink juice liquid stuff I drink.
I'll also have a right good moan about anything that happens during my day. I might even be happy about some stuff too, but I doubt it.
For anyone familiar with Dingbats, the title of this blog comes from an answer for a card my friends and I found in French class.

Hilarity ensued We were immature as fuck, so it ended up in us all getting moved about. I thought it was a decent name for a blog. So here it is.
So visit, read my stuff, recommend me and follow the links to your right. They're good peoples.
